 Golf II

 1. What did you learn about "lifelong wellness" from taking this General Education Course?

While enrolled in this general education course, I learned a lot about lifelong wellness. Something that came to my mind was the limited amount of time one can participate in team or group sports. In tennis, soccer, basketball, volleyball and other team sports, one can only play as long as they have a team and another team to play with. Something that is unique about golf is the idea that one can play this the rest of their life. Golf is unique in that it can be played alone or with someone whenever a golf course is close and whenever the weather is good enough. This, to me is what lifelong wellness is. I can continually play this sport even though others are not there to play it with me thus promoting a lifetime of physical activity that not only stimulates the body, but stimulates the emotions as well.

2. How would you apply this information to your life?

Understanding what lifetime wellness is and what it implies is important. To keep a body physically fit and healthy, it must be stimulated by some activity, by applying the information I learned about lifelong wellness I can continue to participate in activities that will allow me to be active and keep by body healthy. Understanding how golf is an activity that will promote lifelong wellness will allow me to continually participate in an activity that I have grown to love while taking this class. This information and this class will constantly remind me that lifetime wellness is something that can last a lifetime and doesn't just have to happen while taking a class.

3. What is your intention to continue to practice what you've learned in your life and why?

Information is something that can be forgotten over time, however, if this information is practiced and remembered it can benefit greatly. It is my intent to continue to participate in activities that will stimulate my body, specifically golf. As I mentioned before, golf is something that can happen throughout an entire lifetime, continually practicing the skills I learned in this class and remembering the information I have come to understand will allow me to be more physically fit and more intellectually stimulated. I want to continue to participate in these activities so I can live life to the fullest and become the best version of me I can be.

4. General Ideas for improving this class.

To improve this class, I would make class sizes smaller. The individual help was phenomenal, but often there wasn't enough time to get through everyone in every class. Smaller class sizes would eliminate the confusion of those who don't know what they're doing. I would also separate golf 1 and golf 2. Signing up for golf 2, I thought I would get a more in depth explanation and would go over more critiquing rather than basics, I was mistaken. Allowing for separate classes would allow for a more in depth class for those who signed up for it. Having played golf for 10 years, I was looking for more critique and less basics, though a good class and a great review, I didn't get the help I was wanting.
